This article is looking from EP coaching angle at the recent incident of an assault at KFC outlet in Malaysia, whereby a customer was assaulted by KFC workers for making a customer complaint.
The observable facts are, there were frustration, anger, ..in both the customer and workers. As an EP coach, we are not addressing how justifiable are the actions : complaint, assault, whether there was negative racial connotation, or personal attack, ...
We are focusing on the arising negative emotions (frustration, anger, ..) that override the rational functional faculty of all parties concerned.
Usually an incident, like the above, is a trigger to something negative underneath.
Life has so much stress, difficulties and pressure in the areas of financial, work, family, marriage, relationship, boss, government, injustice, corrupted politicians, racial disharmony, ....really the list is endless, coupled with individual buried negatives from the past conditioning. We are simply living in mines waiting to explode.
We have witnessed so many road rages, a small dispute in the family or relationship that flare into a burning flame, ....
We have not learned the knowledge and skills how to transmute such negative energies into positives. And we become prisoners of our mental images of what are to be expected, which often do not appear like in fairy tales.
And such negative incidents will continue to repeat in patterns, small scale or big scale.
Staff in organizations suffers the same like the above customer and workers in KFC.
The difference is : because of fear of rice bowl gets affected, a lot of such negatives emotions are suppressed and buried in the body. Hence it is not being assaulted by someone, but carry out self-inflicted pain, mentally and psychologically.
And this has many negative consequences and symptoms.
Symptoms like higher medical bills, more sick leave, performance deteriorates, not only affecting the individual but also overall business performance. Frustration, fear and insecurity also lead to excessive politicking in the company.
In the extreme case, like in China, high suicide rate in Foxconn Technology Group factory in Shenzhen, supplier to Apple Computer.
In chemical, oil and gas or nuclear industries, suppressed negativities of the organizational members may bring about reduced safety alertness, thereby contribute towards safety incidents or safety disasters. Then it is not "Assault" on people, but the very integrity of the safety system.
Corporations do not realize there exists a human technology, EP coaching, that can help transformation of negative energies to positive energies.
