How to apply EP conversation at Work?

Introduction

After [Number Psychology & Energy Psychology] training, participants are invited to join NP EP egroup Community to further practice and share their experience.

One Senior Manager of a large corporation posted the following: " How to Apply EP conversation at Work?"

This is a typical conversion in an organization on discussion with subordinate on performance expectation.
What is the alternative way of using EP to make the conversion more effective and bring positive result?

Boss : " You did not complete the task you suppose to finish yesterday. The report is still not send out yet."
Staff : "ya, i was busy"
Boss : " Can you make sure this is done by today and pls. make sure you keep to the date in future."
Staff : "ok ok"
Boss : " You have not been keeping to the timeline in many incidents. This is unacceptable and need improvement."
Staff : " Your expectation is too high, i have too many things to do."
Boss : " Everyone also has many tasks to do. You need to set priority and find a solution to get things done in a more efficient way. We are all paid to get our job done."
Staff :" You are my boss, you should tell me how to do."
Boss : " I am here to guide you, but not to provide you with solution. If you need help, we can discuss, but you cannot expect me to spoon feed you"
Staff : " ya, ok. Can I leave now? I have a lot of work to do."

Note:

The above conversation can easily be a conversation between a parent and his / her child, or other relationship like husband and wife, or business partners.


EP Coach’s Suggested Approach

Greetings.

Thank you for your good posting.

Let me give a bit of background.

Although in the NP EP training class, we focused more on formal coaching, whereby the coachee is willing to present his or her issues or challenging situations, we can also apply the concepts, principles learned in the class on “EP conversation” in our daily life in a focused and strategic way, with the view of creating positive influence and outcome.

Such EP focused conversation can be applied subtly, without the other party feeling under pressure being coached, as some are not willing to come for formal coaching session.

Using the case presented, I share some approaches below, i.e. how Number Psychology (NP) and Energy Psychology (EP) can be applied.

Frame of Mind in EP Conversation

Before we start, there are two aspects we need to bear in mind.

a) Our relationship with the party concerned, in this case Superior and Staff
b) Understanding the other party potentials, or Number-attributes

In the case of a), we need to make sure we do not have too much attachment to our role e.g. Superior (who sure has expectation from the staff, if expectation is not made, the boss can have negative feelings like annoyed, angry etc.). Then such negatives need to be balanced first, ie. apply EP (what you learn from the training class) to self.

In b), assuming we have done some calculation , i.e. what you learned on [Number Psychology], and focus on one or a few of the attributes, whereby the person concerned is not manifesting well.

Take for example, in this case, we focus on, say ...

[1] = Self confidence, Leadership attributes, or lack of self confidence
[2] = Co-operation or Relying on people

which the staff is still struggling to learn to balance and manifest the positive aspects.

I demonstrate two interventions below

Scenario A:

Boss : " You did not complete the task you suppose to finish yesterday. The report is still not send out yet."
Staff : "ya, i was busy"

Suggested intervention ...

Boss : "I notice you have created a pattern of not keeping to the timeline in many incidents. In your busyness and not effective in producing results, how do you feel?"......(listen to the respond, and see any opportunity to ask the following coaching question) "How do you assess your self-confidence and leadership in more effective management, say in % of confidence?

Remark :

The above EP conversation helps to bring to his or her attention about his or her attribute [1], lack of leadership, creativity, self-confidence , his or her feelings.

That is [Head Center] = Does he or she has low self-esteem, what fear drives that
[Heart Center] = what feelings and emotions from such belief and action.

Scenario B:

Boss : " You did not complete the task you suppose to finish yesterday. The report is still not send out yet."
Staff : "ya, i was busy"
Boss : " Can you make sure this is done by today and pls. make sure you keep to the date in future."
Staff : "ok ok"
Boss :" You have not been keeping to the timeline in many incidents. This is unacceptable and need improvement."
Staff : " Your expectation is too high, i have too many things to do."
Boss :" Everyone also has many tasks to do. You need to set priority and find a solution to get things done in a more efficient way. We are all paid to get our job done."
Staff : " You are my boss, you should tell me how to do."

Suggested intervention ...

Boss :"That is an interesting remark. Would you care to share how often you use such strategy, depending and relying on other people to manage your live, and what good outcomes you get from it? ....(listen to the response ..you could also ask: "How do you feel?"

Remark :

The above EP conversation helps to bring to his or her attention about his or her attribute [2], relying on people, his or her feelings.
That is [Head Center] = belief system that people should drive his or her life, arising from what fear or anxiety.
[Heart Center] = what feelings and emotions from such belief and action.

If the above little focused EP conversation can bring about some awareness of self on the party concerned, the party concerns may like to request for a formal EP coaching session.
